Wine blending, tasting and platter

Enjoy a tour in a state of the art wine cellar.  Blend, bottle and label your own wine in this unique hands-on opportunity.  Followed by lunch overlooking the vineyards and mountains.

Enjoy doing your own wine blending in the state of the art winery of Benguela Cove, in the Overberg. This is a unique experience to get to know the wines of the Overberg and to learn from a local vintner how wine is made and blended.

The winery’s wine maker or wine ambassador will take you on a guided tour of the modern, high tech wine cellar and explain how both red and white wines are made. Whilst in this beautiful cellar you will taste the various wine cultivars individually. You will then blend your own wine in the test tubes provided and once you are satisfied with your blend, you will bottle and label it to take home and enjoy later. 

After the wine blending, enjoy a delicious two course meal in the courtyard of a nearby wine farm.

What an amazing and diverse experience Danny and Shirley have put together in the Western Cape. We made our own wine (I now know how easy it is to make bad wineJ) we made our own sausages with the most interesting couple – they were the best sausages I’ve ever tasted – straight of the braai at their farm.  The wetland walk was invigorating and made us feel we could indulge guilt free in the most delicious gourmet lunch afterwards …… and the wine. The weekend was FUN and I loved it.
